Dynamic grid physics costs the server far more than the station equivalent, so inactive grids are switched to station mode in the background. Conversion timing is configurable, along with how long a player must be offline, the minimum distance from online players, whether grids in gravity are converted, and which subgrids are skipped. Admin commands force a run or convert every grid.
